Topic: Characteristic or aspect of the three protagonists from "A Rose from Emily", "A good man is Hard to find" and "The Story of an Hour"

Order Description

from my teacher:
This essay will be a major grade, so make sure to put your very best effort into your writing; revise and edit carefully; and turn your essay in on time.
Your paper will be about a characteristic or aspect the three protagonists share. Emily Grierson from “A Rose from Emily” , The Grandmother from “A Good Man is Hard to Find” and Mrs. mallard from “A story of an hour”. You will illustrate, with examples, how each protagonist embodies that characteristic.
You may not use any outside resources except Your Bedford Introduction to Literature, the Hacker handbook, or a dictionary.
Getting Started:
• Read through stories in your Bedford text and refer to the notes you took from lecture on about the works.
• You must have a minimum of 3 quotes per story (which means your paper will have AT LEAST 9 quotes in it)
*Please note, by quote, I mean anything excerpted from the story-it does not just have to be dialogue

Drafting:
You must include at least three direct quotes (passages copied from the story) as support for your thesis. The quotes must be properly punctuated and introduced (or set up)
• Use quotes to support your thesis (Your characteristic) for each quote, set up the quote, “give the quote,” and most importantly, explain how the quote shows the characteristic.

• Typed and double-spaced in 12pt font with one inch margins
• Proofread everything before you turn it in; there should be no spelling or typographical errors.
TIPS:
Your essay should be no shorter than 5 paragraphs
Include (in your folder) a copy of your rough draft, typed first draft, and peer edits
Include a copy of the checklist
Remember:
Literature is written about in present tense
Write your paper using 3rd Person. The only time you would use 1st or 2nd person is if it is a direct quote
