Journalistic writing
This eassy is culture criticism and curation I am taking. please read through document and finish it on time.

please avoid plagiarize problems.

Assignment:

•Journalistic writing (total 1,000 words) presented in appropriate form (digital and/or analogue) (weighted 33.3%)

You will write two 500-word reviews; one will be an exhibition review, the other will be a film review (one exhibition only, one film only). You can choose what you review, but both exhibition and film must be on show/release in the UK during February/March; please provide a note of where you viewed the exhibition and the film. The reviews will be in a style appropriate to “the quality press”: this term will be examined in class.

As this is a journalistic exercise, footnotes, references and bibliography are unnecessary. However, you will approach the reviews with the kind of critical intelligence that is required throughout the course, and your work will be judged on how far the reviews fulfil “a professional brief” (which will be explained in class). The usual rules on plagiarism apply.

Samples of journalistic reviews will be presented for in-class discussion. We will also discuss the nature of good journalistic reviewing, and the relationship between print and online writing. Guest speakers will provide different perspectives on the place of journalism in the contemporary media landscape.

Learning Outcomes:

8.A critical understanding appropriate to journalistic writing and curatorial skills (MC Subject Knowledge, Research, Analysis)

9.An ability to present information and materials effectively, both in written form and orally, using appropriate materials and technology (MC Communication and presentation, Technical competence)

10.An ability to work independently and/or collaboratively (MC Collaborative and/or independent professional working, Experimentation)

The reviews are to be submitted online on Thursday, 17 March by 4pm. Students with ISA’s should have requested an adjusted deadline with a possible 1 week extension at the beginning of the unit.

The reviews are to be word-processed, and double spaced.
