obesity among school age (6-12) years children in the united states

The proposed research study seeks to accomplish two important research objectives or purposes. The first objective or purpose of the study is to determine the trend in the cases of obesity among school-going children aged between 6 years and 12 years. To achieve this objective, the study will focus on collecting quantitative data on the number of cases of obesity among the students in the given age bracket. It will be done by a sampling of several institutions in the United States and attempting to scientifically identify the number of obesity cases among the school-going children in the mentioned latent class (Ogden et al., 2014). The trend will inform the need and the urgency of developing intervention programs for the reduction of obesity in the mentioned latent class.

The second one will be about obesity prevalence varied by gender, race/ethnicity (non-Hispanic white, non-Hispanic black, Hispanic, mixed race, and other), household composition (2-parent biological or step families, single-mother, and other), metropolitan/non-metropolitan residence, primary language spoken at home (English or any other language), household or parental education, household poverty status measured as a ratio of family income to poverty threshold, social capital, perceived neighborhood safety, the amount of television viewing, recreational computer use, physical activity, and sports participation among children aged 6 to 12 years in the United States.
I’m thinking of using The National Survey of Children’s Health to calculate adjusted obesity prevalence varied by gender, race/ethnicity (non-Hispanic white, non-Hispanic black, Hispanic, mixed race, and other), household composition (2-parent biological or step families, single-mother, and other), metropolitan/non-metropolitan residence, primary language spoken at home (English or any other language), household or parental education, household poverty status measured as a ratio of family income to poverty threshold, social capital, perceived neighborhood safety, the amount of television viewing, recreational computer use, physical activity, and sports participation among children aged 6 to 12 years in the United States.
