You are an elementary school teacher (or secondary school teacher) in the San Bernardino (Redlands, Desert Sand…) city unified school districts. You have an expertise in instructional design and have a passion for helping ELL students. Your principal has asked you to develop an instructional material on mathematics for the ELL students. Audience definition: Who is the audience? Can you define subgroups that have similar characteristics? Are learners clustered at one location, or are they distributed? Describe the audience’s motivation, prior knowledge, and education level.

Delivery environment: Where will the instruction be delivered? How will the instruction be delivered? Will it be delivered to many learners in many locations, or a single session at a single location? Synchronous or asynchronous?

General outcomes: What will the learners be able to demonstrate that they couldn’t have done previously?

Assessment Strategies: How will learners demonstrate the obtainment of learning outcomes?
