After reading Kay S. Hymowitz’s “Where Have the Good Men Gone,” write a Rogerian Argument in the form of a letter to
1) Ms. Hymowitz, finding common ground with her stance, but then making at least one solid argument to persuade her to think differently about one or more of the issues she clearly feels strongly about in her writing piece. I understand that you may strongly agree with Hymowitz yourself, but use this as an opportunity to practice the argumentation strategy itself, extracting yourself from the equation in order to practice argumentation (you may use “I” though) In other words, whatever you argue, be sure to address Hymowitz’s stance and offer at least one counter-argument (your whole piece could be an argument or agreement, but address the opposing point of view).
