Book of Proverbs

Assignment: Students are expected to choose one book from the bible. Write a research paper containing the following information about the chosen book. (Proverbs) My Choice

1. State the date the book was written. If there are problems with the dating of the book please state the problems, and what the implications of those problems are for biblical scholarship.

2. Author- If there is a problem about the author state the problems and reasons.

3. Historical setting of the book- To whom was the book written, and what was their situation in life? Is there any underlying theme?

4. The main thrust of the book- Why was the book written? What does the book deal with? Is there any underlying theme?

5. Relevance of the book for today- What did you gain from studying this book? How will it help others to read this book?

6. List all sources that you used in writing this report (bibliography). Make sure to give proper credit to any sources that you use including on line sources.

7. What is your favorite scripture passage in the book you chose? Proverbs 3:5-6 What impressed you about it? It helps me when I’m down and feeling like I’m not going to make it.
