Write a series of edited, well-organized paragraphs in which you describe and analyze a current population-related social problem confronting the city Tianjin, China .  The types of questions you should try to address in your essay are:

•  What is the general history of the urbanization process in the city?  When did the city begin to rapidly urbanize?

•  Generally speaking, what types of social problems has the city experienced?

•  What single social problem seems to be especially problematic?  Why have you selected it over others?

•  How is this social problem theoretically and empirically related to population growth?

•  What is the municipal government and/or its citizens doing in an attempt to remedy the problem?  Are there any innovative approaches proposed or currently employed?

•  What are the prospects for the future in the city?
