Writer’s choice

English 402 / Final ProjectYour final project for this course is the culmination of your semester’s research and it must be digital. You have some wiggle-room to choose but you must consider two elements of TC in your decision: Accessibility & Usability. Therefore, something like a PowerPoint won’t work, necessarily, because PP is a platform to showcase other things (like a visual during a speech). Instead, consider how you might take the visuals in a PP and how you might put them on a small-scale website or translate the data into an info-graphic.
This project is worth 20 points and should demonstrate/include the following:
A visual product that you think showcases your research in the best possible way. In order to do that, you must have a one page, single-spaced justification of your project’s goals and how you think you met them.
A visual product that demonstrates internet/public awareness of digital ethics (including international/multicultural awareness).
Use visual data that does not mislead your audience (pie charts or graphs that are inaccurate or not representative of numerical data).
Demonstrate the 5 principles of design: balance, contrast, proximity, alignment and repetition.
Demonstrate understanding of accessibility and usability.
A works cited/reference page.
You must also complete all the coursework for this project. You can do this by actively demonstrating that you’ve completed a thorough investigation of what kind of digital forum/platform best suits your work. Also, there are accompanying readings to the completion of this project—these are meant to help you complete the best project you can.
English 402 /Presentation of Projects
In order to successfully complete the course, you must present your project to your classmates. While your absolutely, definitely, positively final product isn’t due until May 2nd, you should have a solid working draft/shell of your project/product to present to your classmates.

Your presentation should be no fewer than 4 minutes and no more than 6 minutes. That time includes any fiddling and diddling to get your work onto the overhead projector. Your visual should be what you have of the project/product itself (no PowerPoint/Prezi) and a dialogue (what you say to your audience). Please touch on the following in your presentation dialogue:
 Why you chose your project
 Who will benefit, hopefully, from this project
 Why your final product/project meets the standards of Accessibility, Usability & Relevance

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
