Each student will be assigned a particular country as identified in the Discussion Board area to which each student is assigned. Countries assigned include: Brazil (Griffith), Italy (Guo), People’s Republic of China (Henry), Russia (Hodge), India (Hurt), and Mexico (Riley).
Research Hofstede’s findings regarding the four dimensions of power distance, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity, and individualism for the country for which you are assigned in comparison to the United States. Present your findings in the discussion board area.
Assume you are a U.S. manager of a subsidiary in the foreign country and explain how differences on these dimensions are likely to affect your management tasks. What suggestions do you have for dealing with these differences in the workplace.
